Description

Commonly used in aromatherapy, Lavender exudes a floral and sweet scent that is revered for its calming effects. As an adaptogen, Lavender naturally relaxes the nervous system, making it the perfect companion for your wind-down ritual before bed or any time you need a moment of peace and clarity. Characterized by the delicate purple hue of its flowers, Lavender may seem airy and light, but the plant is actually complex and resilient — which reminds us of our gentle, but effective Goat Milk Solid Lotions.

Benefits

When your skin needs extra moisture, it's important to choose the most nourishing ingredients possible. Generally, liquid lotions require chemical preservatives to prevent bacteria from growing. While commercial liquid lotions may contain irritating chemicals, our solid Goat Milk Lotion Stick instead focuses on simple, nourishing, and natural ingredients.

Rather than being creamy or “liquidy,” our solid lotion has a similar consistency to a lip balm. The lack of water in our lotion not only concentrates the goodness for your skin, but also prevents bacteria and other nasties (that can be found in liquid lotion) from growing.

The addition of dehydrated goat milk with its lactic acid, Vitamin A, selenium, and other natural compounds, further benefits your skin. When you regularly use the Lavender Solid Goat Milk Lotion, your skin is in for an extra treat full of nourishing goodness.

Ingredients

Sweet almond oil; Coconut oil; Beeswax; Avocado oil; Cocoa Butter; Mango Butter; Dehydrated goat milk; Lavender essential oil.

Sweet Almond Oil
Sweet almond oil is a natural emollient, so it helps moisturize your skin. It’s easily absorbed into skin and contains fatty acids that help to keep skin soft and supple. It has vitamin E, an antioxidant that helps to protect the skin from oxidative stress. It also contains vitamin A, which can help to improve skin tone and complexion. It can help to reduce the appearance of dark circles under the eyes, improve skin texture, and reduce the appearance of stretch marks. It is also anti-inflammatory so it can help soothe and calm irritated skin.

Coconut Oil
Coconut oil is a natural moisturizer that can make your skin feel soft and smooth. Coconut oil has antimicrobial properties, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties that can help treat skin conditions like acne, eczema, and psoriasis. Coconut oil has a small amount of natural SPF, so it can provide some minor sun protection for your skin. Coconut oil contains vitamin E, which can help even out your skin tone and reduce dark spots.

Beeswax
Beeswax contains natural emulsifiers, which help to seal in moisture and protect the skin from dryness, making it an excellent natural moisturizer for chapped lips and dry skin. It has natural antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, which can help to soothe irritated skin and promote healing. Plus, natural beeswax is non-comedogenic, meaning it won't clog pores or cause breakouts, making it ideal for use in skincare products.

Avocado Oil
Rich in Vitamin E and Vitamin K, avocado oil is excellent at supporting collagen production which improves the elasticity in skin. As a natural moisturizer, it helps prevent dryness and flakiness in skin and combats the signs of aging. Its anti-inflammatory properties also help to soothe troubled skin and reduce the redness and skin irritation that acne, eczema, or psoriasis can bring.

Cocoa Butter
Cocoa butter helps keep your skin healthy, hydrated, and soft because it creates a barrier that locks in moisture. It has lots of natural antioxidants that protect your skin from free radical damage caused by the sun and pollution. These antioxidants slow skin aging and can help reduce wrinkles and fine lines, so your healthy skin can look youthful for longer. It is also packed with essential fatty acids that help make your skin more elastic and firm which can also help repair skin damage and help reduce stretch marks and scars.

Mango Butter
Mango butter is rich in vitamin A, vitamin C and vitamin E, as well as essential fatty acids, which are crucial to the hydration and nourishment of the skin. The antioxidants in mango butter can help protect the skin from damage caused by free radicals. Its natural properties can help to soothe inflammation and the redness and irritation of acne on your skin. It is highly moisturizing, making it the ideal combatant to dry and sensitive skin.

Dehydrated Goat Milk
When making lotions, lip balms, and deodorants, it’s not safe to use liquid goat milk because bacteria could grow in the liquid environment. So we source dehydrated goat milk from a reputable supplier for the safety of these items.

Lavender Essential Oil

Lavender is an adaptoge that contains a 'normalizing effect' which counteracts stressors. As such, it may help with difficulty sleeping, anxiety, stress, nervous tension, emotional stress, mild cases of depression, and tension headaches. It’s antiseptic and antifungal properties may help alleviate acne, psoriasis, skin inflammations, and even wrinkles. It can help keep mosquitoes away and some have even used it in the treatment of head lice and nits.

Directions

  1. Clean your Skin: The skin where you apply the lotion should be clean and dry.
  2. Open the Lotion Stick: Twist up the solid lotion stick to expose a small amount of the product, similar to using a lip balm tube.
  3. Apply to Skin: Gently swipe the lotion stick directly onto the desired area of your body. For facial use, rub the stick onto clean hands first, then gently smooth the lotion onto your face.
  4. Rub In Thoroughly: Use your hands to massage the lotion into your skin until it is fully absorbed, which should take two minutes or less.
  5. Use Sparingly: Since solid goat milk lotion is not diluted with water, apply a small amount. Your skin should not feel greasy. If it does, you’ve applied too much. Next time, adjust the quantity based on your skin’s needs.
  6. Conduct a Patch Test: If you are allergy-prone or have sensitive skin, apply first to a small area of skin to test for any allergic reactions.
  7. Store Properly: After use, lower the stick back into the tube and secure the cap. We recommend using it all within 6 months. This timeframe can be extended by storing it in a cool, dry place.

Meet Our Goats

We breed Alpine and Nigerian Dwarf registered dairy goats in Scottsburg, Indiana - only half an hour North of Louisville, Kentucky. Our Alpine dairy goats are raised as naturally as possible. We have a 36 acre farm in Southern Indiana, and the goats spend their days in the woods, in their pastures, or in the barn if there's bad weather.

Baby goats are raised on their mom's colostrum and goat milk. Babies are weaned around 3-4 months old. Since the moms are milked for about 10 months, there is plenty of excess milk to use in our goat milk products.
