Scent

Goat Milk Laundry Soap has no added scent.

Our Laundry Soap is designed to rinse completely out of your clothes. Because of this, any added scent would not be noticeable on your clothes. Commercial laundry detergent can scent your clothes because they use chemicals to bind to your clothing. We do not use these chemicals because they can irritate your skin.

Size

  • Weighs between 5 and 6 ounces
  • Measures approximately 3.5" x 1.75" x 2"

Benefits

Commercial laundry detergents contain many nasty chemicals that bind to your clothing to leave a scent or promote an illusion of whiteness, which can then cause skin irritation. Goat Milk Laundry Soap is a cleaner alternative that will not bind to your clothing, so it will not irritate your skin.

Every ingredient in this laundry soap is focused on a clean wash, rather than optical illusions. Whether you use this on your daily clothing or your sheets and towels, it will reduce the risk of skin rashes caused by chemicals bound to your clothing. And while it is gentle on your skin, your clothes will still be fresh and clean.

Goat Milk Laundry Soap also is better for your washer and the environment, due to the natural ingredients and minimal amount required per load.

Ingredients

Saponified Natural Fats, Goat Milk.

Raw Goat Milk

Unlike our competitors, we only use goat milk from our own herd of healthy, pastured dairy goats. Our milk travels several hundred feet from our milking parlor to our soaproom. It isn't transported hundreds of miles and it's often turned into soap the same day it is collected. This ultra-fresh milk is as healthy as possible and is high in skin-nourishing ingredients like Selenium, Vitamin A, and Lactic Acid.

Natural Fats
Lard contains a blend of fatty acids, including oleic, palmitic, and lauric acids, which nourish and protect the skin. It is also a rich source of vitamins A and D, both essential for skin health. These vitamins promote cell repair, reduce inflammation, and guard against environmental damage. Glycerin is a natural humectant that helps the skin retain moisture, making lard glycerides particularly beneficial for dry or sensitive skin. Studies also indicate that lard glycerides have mild antimicrobial properties, supporting skin health and reducing acne-causing bacteria.

Saponified
Saponification is the chemical soapmaking reaction that turns the ingredients into soap. We use sodium hydroxide as the catalyst for bar soap and potassium hydroxide as the catalyst for liquid soap. Neither of these ingredients are left in the finished soap. They have all been used up in the saponification reaction and turned into soap.

Directions

  1. Shred the Laundry Bar: Use a hand grater or food processor to grate and powder the Goat Milk Laundry Soap Bar into a fine consistency.
  2. Combine Ingredients: Mix 1 part washing soda, 1 part borax, and 1 part grated Laundry Bar. Preferably measure by weight (e.g., 5 oz washing soda, 5 oz borax, 5 oz grated soap) for accuracy. If no scale is available, measure by volume (e.g., 1 cup washing soda, 1 cup borax, 1 cup grated soap).
  3. Adjust for Water Hardness or Cleaning Needs: For hard water, add more washing soda to soften the water. For extra cleaning power, increase the amount of grated soap and borax.
  4. Add Baking Soda (Optional): Include baking soda in the mix to control odors, adjusting the amount based on your needs if odors persist.
  5. Store Properly: Store the mixed laundry soap powder in a sealed container.

Meet Our Goats

We breed Alpine and Nigerian Dwarf registered dairy goats in Scottsburg, Indiana - only half an hour North of Louisville, Kentucky. Our Alpine dairy goats are raised as naturally as possible. We have a 36 acre farm in Southern Indiana, and the goats spend their days in the woods, in their pastures, or in the barn if there's bad weather.

Baby goats are raised on their mom's colostrum and goat milk. Babies are weaned around 3-4 months old. Since the moms are milked for about 10 months, there is plenty of excess milk to use in our goat milk products.
